Heniaka is Coordinator for Ngāti Toa Māori Wardens based in Porirua. She has worked as a Māori Warden since 2009. Ngāti Toa Māori Wardens was formally recognised by Wellington City in 2015 and Porirua City in 2016. In June 2018 Heniaka was named as one of 25 influential wāhine in Porirua City as part of the national celebrations marking 125 years of women’s suffrage.
