Ngāti Toa Māori Wardens
The Ngāti Toa Māori Wardens area encompasses the Kāpiti-Mana area from Waikanae to Paraparaumu and Porirua. Our office is based at the Porirua Police Hub. We work closely with Ngāti Toa, local Marae, the Police and community.

Branch Chief Heniaka August
Ngāti Kahungunu
Heniaka is Coordinator for Ngāti Toa Māori Wardens based in Porirua. She has worked as a Māori Warden since 2009. Ngāti Toa Māori Wardens was formally recognised by Wellington City in 2015 and Porirua City in 2016. In June 2018 Heniaka was named as one of 25 influential wāhine in Porirua City as part of the national celebrations marking 125 years of women’s suffrage.
